cat abuse
Small and a little over a month old, but still entertaining.
[EDIT: This video has caused wank before when it first came out in January '07. [info]mindset provides links: 1 2 3]

Video of a "cat spa" automatic bath invention is posted at DampCats.com, sparking cries of "animal cruelty" and resulting naysayers.

Some quotes:

Emma: That IS animal cruelty - whoever designed this contraption has absolutely no understanding of a cats natural behaviour and/or needs. I work with them day in and day out and I’ve seen cats under stress - this is possibly one of the most abusive things I’ve ever seen done to an animal - goondess you can see how distressed it is! This “invention” is an utterly dispicable idea. I cannot stress how disgusted I am with this.

Iy: bande d’abrutis, c’est débile, aussi débile que d’aller crever en Irak
[[info]electricwitch translates: "bunch of idiots, it´s moronic, as moronic as going to die in Iraque."]

big gaz: emma. SHUT THE FUK UP U DICK. ITS FUNNY THATS ALL. THE CAT MUST OF HAD A BAD SMELL AND NEEDED WASHED GROW UP U SAD COW

I have a 20+lb half WILD CAT and I hand wash her in the tub. It’s not that hard, you just train your cat not to claw skin (tell them no and lift their paw every time they do it, they get the picture after about three times.)

IT'S NOT THAT HARD! *sporfle* Indeed.

... I think they left out the part where the half WILD CAT was forced to smoke a joint, prior.

What, don't they speak English?

Maybe I should try "nein" instead.

That or she's mistaken a small dog for a half WILD CAT. Maybe it's not so big because it's wild, maybe it's just a pomeranian.

lift their paw every time they do it

So they can be sure and claw up your palms, too.

Though to be fair, I used to have a cat who was half wild. We found him as a kitten living off french fries and cheeseburgers in a McDonald's parking lot. That was the strangest cat I've ever known. He was more like a dog than a cat, really. Came when he was called, sat on command. He didn't like water, but he wouldn't raise a claw to me for bathing him. He just sat there and meowed pathetically and tried to get away if I loosened my grip at all.

It's not that hard! You just decapitate the cat first, and then you only have to deal with the gore, not the cat's objections.

Decapitation: putting the "half" in HALF WILD!

Cats are so tractable, yeah. Must be the reason my last cat BIT THROUGH MY THUMBNAIL when I tried to bathe her.

Sigh. Someone must have forgotten to tell my cat that she's trainable in three easy steps- she's STILL trying to break into the bag of squid jerky, and I *know* she's been told no more than three times.

She also likes to eat popcorn. Go figure.

But, but, the bag is full of delicious rubber bands!

AHAHAHA

That is totally why groomers consider cats to be a 'specialized skill'. When I worked at pet store that did grooming the groomers had to have one year's worth of grooming experience, plus special training and certification before they were allowed to take cats. And then only by appointment, no walkins.

Because unlike most dogs, cats are evil and will try to kill you.

Helpful hint, before bathing put an E-collar on them and then trim their nails. The E-collar makes it more difficult for their nefarious plots to be enacted.
