cat abuse
Small and a little over a month old, but still entertaining.
[EDIT: This video has caused wank before when it first came out in January '07. [info]mindset provides links: 1 2 3]

Video of a "cat spa" automatic bath invention is posted at DampCats.com, sparking cries of "animal cruelty" and resulting naysayers.

Some quotes:

Emma: That IS animal cruelty - whoever designed this contraption has absolutely no understanding of a cats natural behaviour and/or needs. I work with them day in and day out and I’ve seen cats under stress - this is possibly one of the most abusive things I’ve ever seen done to an animal - goondess you can see how distressed it is! This “invention” is an utterly dispicable idea. I cannot stress how disgusted I am with this.

Iy: bande d’abrutis, c’est débile, aussi débile que d’aller crever en Irak
[[info]electricwitch translates: "bunch of idiots, it´s moronic, as moronic as going to die in Iraque."]

big gaz: emma. SHUT THE FUK UP U DICK. ITS FUNNY THATS ALL. THE CAT MUST OF HAD A BAD SMELL AND NEEDED WASHED GROW UP U SAD COW

...My cat feels threatened when I scratch behind her ears and lovingly pet her? :[ I did not know. I guess I have to stop all contact with her, then.

You should. Your stinking human cooties are infecting her beautiful natural wild felinity anyway.

I had a cat like that. According to my vet? Yes, she did, since she was a stray and wasn't handled much as a kitten. Feral cats only have physical contact with each other for two reasons: to mate, or to fight. And even the mating usually involves scratching and biting at some point.

So my cat would tolerate the petting at a certain threshold, but "defend" herself once she got uncomfortable with it -- most often by slapping me in the face with her claws retracted. Because in her mind, I'm gearing up for a smackdown, and that was her warning to quit it.

By contrast, I have four other cats whom I raised and handled from the time they were 4 weeks old. The two handled the most LOVE being petted and cuddled. The other two who were handled less tolerate it but don't particularly like it.

My cat is a complete housecat. She just attacks our hands sometimes. And she used to attack out feet, but no longer. She loves being stroked most of the time, but every once in a while she decides to bite me instead of being docile.

Is it BITING biting or play-biting? Because my four do the play-biting thing a lot, where they're nibbling my fingers but not actually trying to hurt me at all.

Well, it hurts. I'm not sure what she's trying to accomplish, because the biting usually ends with someone sitting up or otherwise disrupting her, so she's off anyway. On occasion she's growled after, though.

Sounds like rough play-biting. Cats will growl at each other a lot when they play rough. Believe me, if she were trying to BITE bite you, you'd know. Because you'd be in excruciating pain and need to be rushed to the ER pronto.
