Cleaning your room = srs business, at least if you're [info]animeg3282.

She makes a post to [info]thequestionclub that is a thinly disguised rant, asking how she can keep things neater.

People start to respond. She gets nice responses at first—telling her to get rid of whatever clutter she might have first, and then worry about cleaning, etc.

The trouble comes when someone recommends she hire a maid service. Apparently, this is a personal affront, and the poster that made the suggestion is actually telling her to drop out of school and work 40 hours a week.

And it all goes downhill from there.

I have to wonder how in god's name this woman is two and a half years older than I am.

Because it simply does not compute.

Who wants to bet this unreasonable amounts of cleaning is keeping the laundry in a hamper and perhaps doing some vacuuming and tidying up on the weekends?

This inspired me to go do the laundry.

Bravo, otf_wank, bravo!

I have to clean the kitty litter and her area. Suddenly I'm not so annoyed by that anymore.

As someone who has a room that is currently so cluttered that it's practically a safety hazard to take one step anywhere in it, you'd think I would be sympathetic to this girl's problem.

And yet, somehow, I'm not...

I'm not really very stupid, so I knew what mostlytaken was trying to do, so I told him to fuck off to show that I was wise to him.

Actually, that's not so much intelligence as paranoia. Just sayin'.

Higher education. Not for everyone.

Dear God! Her crazy is making me stressed! She reminds me far too much of this crazy fucking bitch I had to practically surgically excise from my life and did the exact same shit that this girl does. Yeesh!

I'm going to take my mind off it and do something more pleasant - clean up cat shit. (It's a funny wank, though. Well done!)

Answer to question:

1) Beat the living crap out of whoever's screaming about the room being dirty.
2) Take a nap. A very long nap.
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary until the world is filled with sunshine and flower-scented deodorant spray.

WOW, that's amusing! What color is the sky in her world?

Innocent bystander: My, isn't the weather nice today?
Animeg: Are you implying it wasn't good enough yesterday? You think it's my fault, don't you! I guess I'm just a bad, bad person, but I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LISTEN TO THIS SHIT AND OMG I SHOULD JUST DIE RIGHT NOW, ISN'T THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING?!?
Innocent bystander: *eep!*

*sigh* Oh dear. I hate it when I can actually see the crazies point.

As one of the most disorganized individuals in the southern hemisphere, I still go a little bit nutso when my mother informs me which way I'm supposed to hang up the washing, which part of the drawer the cutlery is supposed to go in.

The comment along the lines of "I don't get what the deal is with people who can't clean" and blah blah blah, struck me as way condescending and *gasp* sounded exactly like my mother ... who even went so far as to ask one of my friends how she could stand coming over to visit (and actually, the place isn't THAT bad, just not up to the standards of Mrs Anal-Retentive). At least my friend was nice enough to tell her (in front of company, no less) "I come to see Her, not her house".

Meh. The OP is nuts, but I sympathize anyway.

My mother's side of the family has anxiety issues and, as part of that, keep their houses insanely clean. I mean, scrub everything down with ammonia everyday kind of clean. I grew up being told that I was a complete and total slob and that no man would want to ever marry me unless I was more into cleaning.

It wasn't really until college, when I learned that I just wasn't fanatically about cleaning...that I was normal. I know it sounds nuts, but until then I thought that only vacuuming and scrubbing the bathroom down only once a week (and or every two weeks if I'm really busy) made me a horrific slob, since that's what I was told when I grew up.

So, I'm not really sure if this is an instance of someone getting a bunch of BS about being a slob when they are relatively neat or if it "OMG I'm living in my Mom & Dad's house and they want me to corral the pile of garbage into my own room.

I just need to know more to judge.

I really love the way she misunderstands everyone – that’s some really special gift. Perhaps that’s why she doesn’t have any time left; it takes so long to understand a simple instruction. She only does five hours a week! If she did one hour a day that would a 40% increase.

is this fucking bitch for real?

I have never seen someone with so many hair trigger issues. Jesus fuck. I think she ought to be asking where to check herself in, not how to clean the goddam toilet bowl.
