When my people are gone and all that's left is an adjective, will you defend my people?
Granted most of the wank at Daily Kos is patently unfunny these pre-primary days. (Which candidate sucks more, is Hillary a whore, is Daily Kos more homophobic or racist, who is the most oppressed of all? *blergh*)

But the following brought the funny and has not even anything to do with politics pre se, so it goes here.

Mike Erwin posts a Diary complaining about being troll-rated/piled on for complaining over an ethnic slur in another Diary.

Doesn't sound funny yet?

Turns out the "ethnic slur" that offended the OP so much is "vandalize".

Commenters fall all over each other with snark and bad puns.

I LoLed.

Your icon's slain me. You can hear his brain exploding, and Stan's just all 'dizzamn.'

I finally finished the game last night and went looking for screenshots. The thing is, I don't remember the scene in my icon from the game at all! I'm sure I'd remember Ari pulling an actual facial expression, so maybe they changed it in translation?

(OH DARN GUESS I'VE GOT TO PLAY IT AGAIN!)

(EXCUSES, EXCUSES)

Yeaaah, most of the time Ari looks a bit stoned, though he does pop a decent OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL GETITOFF face when he has the why-hello-there-Stanley dream. But even if the cap in your icon's been shopped it's a bloody good job. XD

Man, I love the character designs for okage.

The original Japanese TV spot shows the clip. If you haven't seen it, check YouTube. Ari/Luka's voice in that one sounds like a little girl. Purely awesome.

You know, I was on campfuckudie for a while, and I seem to recall that the person on there who played Ari did so with entirely hand-drawn icons, because it was the only way she could get enough facial expressions.

They changed the character model for the American release so that Ari had smaller eyes.

No, I don't know why.

Because they were freakish looking in the original? At least, they were to me.

And in other news, OMG other people know about that game? *dies of shock*

I love that game! It was the first game I played on the PS2!

I even cosplayed it once. I was Epros. It was early in my cosplaying career and it sucked enormously -- even more so because I was hanging around next to my brilliant friend and her awesome Marlene costume.

The eyes didn't look freakish to me -- everyone in the game had those eyes.

I always wanted to cosplay Stan. Not as shadow guy, but end of the game Stan. But I seriously don't have the figure for it. A couple too many curves, for one. I had this huge long fanfic going, like over thirty chapters before I lost my motivation. I keep trying to finish it, but I've got the worst writer's block ever. Woe!

But seriously, they didn't? Maybe it was just looking at him after being used to the American version, but I was like "Holy crap those are some huge eyes!"
