Cool Whip: It's a Floorwax and a Dessert Topping!
Over in the hip_domestics community, [info]petrel asks the age old question, "Cool Whip is the same as whipped cream, right?" followed closely by "How do you make whipped cream anyway?" This draws some slight mumbling from the crowd on the evils of Cool Whip, nothing spectacular, really.

Anyhoo, domestic snark picks it up and upsets a friend of the original poster, [info]coflower, who wouldn't have been upset if everyone knew what an IQ smart person [petrel] is.

Once again, short but sweet. (I should really stop looking at food comms when I'm hungry.)

If you have a stick blender and a clean jar that the stick blender fits into, it works well. Fill the jar about 1/3 of the way to 1/2 full, then put the stick blender in. After about three pumps up and down- viola- nicely whipped cream, soft enough for topping. Pump it more for harder creamohgodididn'ttypethat.

I usually use a salsa jar sans salsa- nice wide mouth, and if you still have the cap you can keep it whipped and ready for a day or two.

...now I can not make whipped cream without giggling like a madwoman, great.
