Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood:Blessed

Admins wank and you still don't get your username back!
So; everyone knows that there was a massive migration away from Greatestjournal right?

Weeeeeeeeell, one of the places they went was CommieJournal. They had an outage around the seventh or eighth of December, and had to restore the database. No big deal, right?

Except, apparently, there is a line in their TOS about "We reserve the right to delete you for inactivity" and they actually have done so. Meaning that frees up the user name for someone else.

The wank starts here with [info]piecesofme stating that someone paid the admins to take a pair of journals from her "friend".

It continues here with [info]clandestine and [info]shamansgirl arguing back and forth.

This prompts a second post by [info]news and even more back and forth between [info]piecesofme and [info]shamansgirl.

The two journals in question: [info]brendan and ryan were held by [info]peterlkwentz who also appears to make several comments, defending their actions.

And then! ryan appears! As does a user by the name of [info]dallascowboys who tries to prove... something. I'm not sure what.

All this leads up to bannination!

And then, again, another post once again explaining that the user names have NOT NOT NOT been bought.

I don't think it'll get any bigger, because CJ is much smaller, but there is some prime douchebaggery in there.

Edit: There are two new "news posts" up. Apparently the paior banned before have now been sysbanned and an open question post has been posted

I stand corrected. This could get a lot more fun.

Possibly, considering HoustonOilersinthe90s might be too many characters.

Were the Houston Oilers ever good? I mean, at least the Seahawks could actually win games and had decent, if unlucky, players.

If you ask an old skool Houstonian, they were God's Gift to Football.

Really, they were pretty rocky. They'd lose, lose, lose, then have enough of a winning streak to get them into the playoffs...where they'd royally screw up, if not the wild card game, then shortly thereafter. That was mostly in the 80's; then they stopped winning altogether and switched to just plain sucking.

But anything is less embarrassing than the Texans.

See, I only have memories of the 90's Oilers and I remember my grandparents going "Well, at least we're not Houston fans".

Oh the Texans. I actually feel kind of sorry for them because they're just so bad and they don't really have much of a "legacy". At least Dolphins fan's can point to at least one year in the previous decades where they had good team.

But yeah, the Seahawks. I just wish I could forget about the 90's.

It's unfortunate to run into football fans who give a sympathetic wince when I tell them I'm from Houston. Really, once the Oilers skipped town, I started watching baseball and college football instead (Go Blue! it's a family obligation). Any pro football history after 1996 hasn't registered much with me except the formation of the Texans - which made me love baseball all the more because the 'Stros actually...uh, win, every now and then.

And basketball. When the Rockets won the championships in '95, life just up and shut down, and I finally had to learn how to spell Hakeem Olajuwon's name correctly. ...wow, that was a long time ago. Huh.

My roommate, being Bostonian, has declared that in lieu of my lackluster home team, I should be a Patriots fan. If everyone associated with the Patriots weren't such massive douches, I might consider it.

Oh yeah. I'm more of Huskies fan than a Seahawks fan because almost every single person in my Momo's side of the family went to the UW and because they didn't make me question my faith in my city's sports teams.

I also was a big Mariners fan. Oh A-Rod, I remember when you were hot and not a greedy manwhore. And when we swept the White Sox and my bus literally only moved 2 blocks in 2 hours because traffic was so bad. Also, Ichiro!

Oh, let me count the ways I hate the Patriots. If only my entire father's side of the family weren't from New England, I could hate them openly.

Oh gawd, the Texans... You know what we should do, right? "If you lot can't be bothered to win, we can't be bothered to keep on paying for your stadium. Oh, you'll pack up and leave? Well, good luck finding a city that'll take your loser faces... Buh bye now."

*Is not bitter at all about all the sports stadiums Houstonians have to pay for.*
