Okay, I just finished looking at the images on Kristina Contes' blog.
That's edgy? That's "avant garde"? Oh, hell no.
Yeah, they're nice to look at, but I was expecting something much more radical.
Then again, given what I've seen of scrapbooks and the people who make them, including photos of yourself, using the word "fuck," and stating any sort of strong, unsentimental opinion is considered unseemly, if not downright perverse. Contes' "provocative approach is only so by comparison; because scrapbooking tends to be so conservative it doesn't take much to seem LOL EDGY. But next to a lot of the art journals I've seen, her stuff is downright fluffy.
