Horse Wank? On *My* Internet?
Fugly Horse of the Day is a blog written by a woman who vents about what she sees as the ills of the horse world - largely, Back Yard Breeders. A while back, she formed a forum as a way of tracking a training challenge she posed her readers.

And all was right with the world. For the most part, readers chatted horses, engaged in small bitchery, and critiqued their own, admittedly fugly horses, their potential breeding horses, and the random stranger's grade, unspectacular stallion that produced more of the same.

Until the Foundation Quarter Horse Debate.

Everything was fine - alright, it wasn't fine, quite a few fans of Foundation QHs were irritated, but things were proceeding rather as they always did, until TrickRoperDeluxe discovered his friend's horse was included, took offense, and proceeded to invite said friend over.

Now, FHotD members occasionally partake in a bit of trolling. I'm not a fan, it gives me the creeps, I keep waiting for [info]snacky or [info]sepiamagpie to ban me for simply reading it. However, the recent influx of Foundation QH fans has proved a match for the forum.

There's vendetta posting! There're accusations of missing the point! There's the conflation of "long backed, short necked" and "puke"!

At some point, the thread was locked. And FHotD had its first locked thread.

But wait! There's more.

Not content to let a locked, dead post lie, Foundation QH fans post no less than three posts a) violating Snacky's Law b) pretending to be the owner of one of the horses and threatening to sue for copyright infringement and c) generally begging the forum to let the Foundation QH thread lie.

Which was what it was doing, but I digress.

In addition to the accusations of meanness and copyright infringement (no amount of quoting Fair Use guidelines helps), there are a few threads started, apparently, by more Foundation QH fans who have got their fingers so close to the pulse of the blog, they think advocating slaughter will win friends and influence people.

And there is more stealing wank.

This is why I should read the whole thread first. *sighs*
