We always used chicken in our Shepard's pie. But we called it Pate Chinois (which I never got, because there's nothing remotely chinese about it) so I guess that merely by being French we destroy English values.

That said, bringing up WW2 always makes me think of the Robot Chicken 'Little Hitler' skit(s).
