Smells like human suffering!
Lush has released a new Bath Ballistic called 'Guantanamo Garden', a product 'Designed to tell the story of Guantánamo, the ballistic is colored orange like the jumpsuits worn by prisoners and is scented with traces of synthetic civet to give it a hint of animalistic, raw, dark feeling.'

The best part? As it dissolves, a picture of a prisoner floats to the surface of your bath to remind you of their struggles!

Despite this product apparently being meant to 'raise awareness' for Reprieve, none of the profits will be going toward the group.

There is some debate among Lush fans over this oh-so-edgy idea for a product. After all, nothing says 'I care' like spending an assload of money for a bath fizzy!

Edit on 13th March: Lush have decided that all profits from the bath ballistic will now go to the charity so they can have some funds to go with their raised awareness. Isn't a little bad customer reaction life surprising?

Oh, Lush. Why didn't you just stick to being the best at selling overpriced organic beauty products? Why, why did you drink the kool-aid, Lush?

Pshaw, that's nothing. You should see their new product "rape". It's shaped like a milk carton and after it dissolves a cow floats up to the surface of the bath.

Because nothing says relaxing bath like meditating on the crimes of a nation.

Oh and way to phone in support of a cause by not donating proceeds! If they donated $$ I'd prolly buy a bunch and send them to higher ups in Washington (and by 'prolly' I mean no fucking way 'cause those things are expensive).

On one hand, they have their heart in the right place. On the other hand, poor taste in execution=/=edgy.

I'm a little confused. It's bad taste, granted, but I clicked the link to the ballistic and it doesn't show any of the stuff you quoted, and it doesn't mention the bit about the prisoner's photo either. Where's that found?

Unless they've engineered the "photos" differently than the confetti that was stuck in their confetti ball... all that will happen is a soggy photo of a detainee will be stuck to the scum on my drain at the end?

It's too bad the concept is so full of WTF?- I really like LUSH products and it sounds like it smells good.
