Perfume can kill
In fatshionista, a community devoted to fat-positive fashion,

rosewelsh makes a post (which was accidentally okayed by a mod) asking people to be careful with perfume and other scents because of those like her that are "deathly allergic" to scent.

Reactions are mixed - some people agree with her, some people think that she's overreacting, and quite a few question what it has to do with fat fashion. It quickly devolves into a discussion about whether or not multiple chemical sensitivity really exists, whether or not the community is a "safe space", and whether or not the responders are bitches.

There are also comments comparing perfume to second hand smoke and contrasting the community reaction to her post to one that an openly gay person would receive if they dared reveal themselves.

It ends(?) with a flounce.

	The last time I can recall the CR wank going too far was over a year ago, thankfully. At least on LiveJournal, and speaking as a mod of a CR comm on LJ that definitely blew up into a nasty bit of wankery we are still cleaning up after. (Reply to this)(Parent)
