My thoughts on ketchup, let me show you them

I hate ketchup. Absolutely hate it. And every time I order a sandwich from the cafeteria we have at uni, they have to slather it in ketchup without asking me first, and then go, "Do you wan mayonnaise on it too?" At which point I'm all, "Arrrrggh! Noooo! Get it away! I want a towel! Rinse me that hot dog right now! Get me another sandwich!"

For some reason, I think they think I'm crazy.

Come to Chicago! Ketchup is banned on hot dogs! (Seriously, there are fast-food joints where if you ask for ketchup, they'll point you to a squeeze bottle sitting off to the side of the counter. You can ruin your hot dog if you want to, but they won't be held responsible for it.)

I actually like ketchup on fries, but that's fries. Ketchup is only acceptable on hot dogs in certain circumstances -- namely, ice shows.

	Ha, maybe that's why my husband likes it here so much. The dude is passionately opposed to putting ketchup on hot dogs. I somehow didn't realize that this was also a Chicago thing, despite having lived here for four years. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	I'm one of those 'I put ketchup on everything except for the things it's acceptable to put ketchup on' people. I don't know who decided that ketchup on eggs or grilled cheese sandwiches was a good idea, but I want to shoot them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	But mayo is so awesome! It goes with all sorts of things: hot dogs, burgers, chicken (grilled, fried, whatever), fries, and deli sandwiches, just to name a few. :D (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	I hate it too! It literally make me queasy, but people get strangely offended when I stop them as they're about to douse communal fries with the goo. Mayonnaise is also (slightly less) evil. Why is Europe obsessed with mayo? Why is it impossible to buy a pre-made sandwich without it over there? Why, God, why?? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Yay mustard! Though I'm a bit wimpy and prefer Bavarian sweet mustard instead. Of course, when I' making sandwiches, I just drown the ham in mustard, mayo and ketchup, and then comes the cheese. Cheese goes with everything. Mmmh, cheese. (Reply to this)(Parent)
