Misanthrope Overload?
Ah, Cute Overload. A site that posts pictures of cute animals, what could people possibly wank about there? As the wiki shows, plenty.

I think Meg, the blogger, loves poking the crazies. One of the most reliable sources of "commentroversy" has been her "Cats n Racks" series. Yesterday she posted a video of a cat kneading some boobies with the hopeful tag "Nancy, it's a good thing you brought this to our attention, we've been just starved for commentroversies." Sadly, the commenters behaved themselves and mostly filled the comments with anecdotes about cats kneading soft squishy objects such as nads, ouch.

Meg would not be denied her wank, though! Clearly she had to bring out something NEW, something GUARANTEED to send her readers into apoplexy.

So today she posts... A HUMAN BABY.

*ominous chord*

263 comments so far, including the following gems:
She almost made the worst mistake of her life: Good Gods I was about to send a link to cuteoverload to someone, thank goodness I checked in first. BABIES NEED NOT APPLY.

You don't understand what your blog is about Meg! I DO: human babies are not what cute overload is about!

Whereas animals are completely silent and made of plasticine: Ugh, what's with all this worshiping at the altar of the baby? Babies are not cute, they're noisy and leak fluids. Do not want!

Uhhhh...: When I look at human babies, I just imagine the adult they will grow into... but puppies and kitties, etc., are babies forever!

I also love this comment where someone ponders changing their dissertation.

And finally, some pwnage:
human babies are not cute. if this is to be a regular occurrence, everyone i know who goes to this site will stop, including myself.

[Well, I can already tell how much we'd miss you... - Ed.]

Pass the pa-sickies.

Edit: HT to [info]dragonfangirl. cf_hardcore cheers the brave commenters for speaking truth to power, or something. What's wrong with the word tummy? :(

When I look at human babies, I just imagine the adult they will grow into...

"Ew, I just know that little Georgie is going to be one of those guys who start balding way too early! He'll run traffic lights, and in his teen years he'll have just the worst acne!"

The boob-kneading looks kind of painful. My cats always try to knead their paws on me, but it tends to involve a lot of clawing, so I have to make them stop.

The cat thing was less "Aw, cute!" and more "OH GOD CLAWS".

Oh yes. All of those women were saying that it didn't hurt at all, and I'm going, "OW OW OW OW OW".

And the woman who let her cat suckle at her nipples weirded me out.

I suppose the cat could have it's nails trimmed, and that wouldn't hurt, but. . .

That is weird.

I wasn't thinking about the nails so much, actually. Max (the furrier of the iconees) often demands excessive amounts of under the blanket morning kneading of various body parts, and he has VERY SHARP CLAWS that I can't keep ahead of.

I don't think that I have particularly sensitive breasts, but having them pummeled like that for that extended period of time would hurt like the dickens.

She what? But, but cats have sharp teeth! Why would you encourage them to apply said teeth to sensitive parts of your anatomy?!

To my great relief, upon re-reading she is letting him suckle on a nubbly blanket that she lays over her chest on demand. Someone else said that she does the exact same thing further down. I'm not sure if she knows that she got flamed for it at the bottom of the page.

Maybe she's wearing a padded bra? One with thick padding can help a lot when cats knead/walk on one's chest.

That's what it looked like. And she's upright - boob-kneading hurst a lot more when you're lying on your back and the cat decides it's time to show just how much she loves Mommy.

The boob-kneading is actually kind of relaxing ... you know, when they're declawed. Otherwise, OW.

I dunno, when my declawed cat does the boob-kneading, she puts all her weight into it and it's pretty uncomfortable.

Plus I get a little weirded out at the thought of getting felt up by a cat.

My one cat is declawed and doesn't generally knead me so much, but she knows all the parts of my body that hurt most when she puts her weight there and those are her favorite spots to step on me.

Maybe my breasts are just really sensitive, or my cat kneads really hard but nothing gets a faster reaction out of me that when he starts up with the boob-kneading. Of course this has now become his preferred method to wake me up.

I avoid that by trimming my cat's claws. Just till the point is off. She's an inside cat, though, so she doesn't need them.

My boobs hurt in sympathy, man! I mean, I can't stand claws in my shoulders or legs — boobs are a definite no-no.
