So meaty...
I wasn't sure whether to plate this dish for here or clairvoyantwank; will move it if necessary. There is wank, but it's tiny so far. A bacon-wrapped wank mignon, if you will, with potential to grow into a wank porterhouse with the right seasonings.

Apparently someone wants to sew raw meat to someone else for a photoshoot, and asks the question: "is this safe?"

The general reaction is something like "um, no, wtf." Same once s_f gets hold of it.

Until ius_naturale comes along with this:

I just don't see the stupid, just another case of someone labeling something they don't agree with or value as stupid.

A few posters try to explain, with varying degrees of tact or lack thereof, why poking a needle and thread through a piece of raw meat and into someone's skin is stupid. ius_naturale (whose username I keep sporfling at because it's just a twee bit too close to "au jus" here) goes all passive-aggressive. And interprets one, maybe two comments in the whole discussion that go "ew, meat fetish" as the entire discussion being one big OMG MEAT FETISH BASHING orgy. And keeps pulling out the "I WORK WITH HIGH SCHOOL KIDS" defense against ...well, basically everything.

That's all the actual wank there is for now, but it has potential for growth especially if loud PETA-types catch wind of it.

Also, horrendous meat puns here if you are into that sort of thing.

Heh... Except of course for all those cases where people got ecoli from contaminated salad and vegetables. I suppose you can autoclave your vegetables. The point is though, you don't put random nonsterile shit into your body. Your body doesn't like it. It's kinda picky that way.

Yeah, but E. coli doesn't actually like vegetables - it likes meat and feces, and gets on the vegetables through cross-contamination. Also, it can be pretty effectively killed by dousing everything with alcohol, and it's unlikely to have gotten through to the inside, because it can't digest cellulose.

But yeah, it's still pretty fucking stupid.

Thing is, all it takes is microscopic amounts of dirt in a wound to cause infection. Things that our gut can handle quite a large amount of bacteria fine, but our subdermal tissue can't. Vegetables are grown in soil that is just drenched in rich organics (read farmers fertilize with bacteria filled animal shit), and on a microscopic level they contain many pits, crannies and holes that invisible amounts of dirt cling to. You can't sterilize it well enough with a dousing of alcohol -- nothing short of irradiation or cooking will do that. And all it takes is for a tiny amount of the shit left on the vegetable to transfer to the needle or the textured, pocketed thread, and then be pulled under your skin, and you have a nasty infection.

Well, by dousing I did pretty much mean dousing - soak the fucking things! Really, you should also set them on fire, but that sort of ruins the vegetables. (And not all vegetables are grown in soil that's fertilized by manure, but of course the trade-off there is usually chemical fertilizers and sprays, hurrah for organophosphate poisoning!)

So, really, the answer is to sew apples to yourself (or anything else that grows high enough to not come into contact with dirt). Apples soaked in alcohol. And set on fire.

Or, you know, DON'T SEW SHIT TO YOURSELF.

LOL, apples set on fire. I'm sure the model wouldn't mind that at all!

Honestly? If there's one dumb enough to have raw meat sewn on, there's one dumb enough for fiery apples.

True. The human body does not care for this kink. It's very straight-laced like that.
