Googley Moogley, that would be one enormous cat even if he wasn't Sir Chubs-a-Lot. He's longer than her torso!

Yup, there's probably some Maine Coon in his ancestry or else its a gland thing or something. I used to live with a cat like that. She wasn't overeating, she was a Maine Coon and had feet the size of hubcaps (figuratively) as a kitten.

When I was growing up, I had a friend who owned a cat that she swore weighed fifty-four pounds at the vet's. To this day, I'd be willing to swear to thirty; that cat was a monster. Its head was the size of a steam iron.

I know there's a lot of controversy over whether bobcats and house cats can actually interbreed, but looking at Shah, I was always willing to give the idea the benefit of the doubt.

Oh man, I ADORE big kitties. If it wasn't so hard to get Maine Coons in Australia I would so have them.

One of my fluffy girls is a bit of a chub, but nothing likt that kitty, omg.

Anecdata, but my sister owned what I'm absolutely certain was a half-breed. She looked exactly like a bobcat, except for being close to house-cat size. She had the oversized back legs, stub tail, coat patterns and everything. She was shy and prone to attacking. I think I still have scars...

We got her from my family in the Ozarks, who noticed that a male bobcat would come and hang around the property whenever the mama cat would go into heat, and a little while later, poof. Little feral bob-kittens everywhere.

Ergo Proxy icon!

And yeah--my stepdad had a half-bobcat kitty. Got in trouble when a neighborhood yap-yap dog came up and barked at it, and the cat's response was to sigh, straighten up from where it laid on the sidewalk, and with a single swipe of its claws, tear the dog's throat out. Dog fell over with a gurgle and gasped its lifeblood out, dead within seconds. Cat sauntered off.
Evil critter, but everybody hated that damn dog...

Beats my friend's story about his psychotic cat who will merely try to maul you through the banisters.

I feel this icon is appropriate...

My BFF had a cat that came home with a wild turkey butt one time. Bunch of tailfeathers with ass attached. that is. Which, WTF cat, even if you could take it down, YOU CAN'T EAT A WHOLE TURKEY. Der.

But I can try, Mommy! I can damn well try! And then I can drag its guts under your bed/onto the carpet/wherever you step first in your morning stupor! *G*

Instead, sadly, the ass was his only prize. Naturally he presented it to his owners on the front step. Now that's good lovin'.

My first cat was of the loooooooongcat variety, too. When I held him with his bottom below my waist, his head was over my shoulder. I came home many a night pleading, "Kato? Do not attack me tonight, Kato..."

Yeah - I don't think that cat is as obese as they think he is. He's clearly, as you said, Sir Chubs-a-Lot, but he's also just BIG. He's long and big-headed and his shoulders and hips are pretty broad under the pudge.

I've seen a similar cat that was like, a foot and a half long not including the head. It was lying on its back sleeping and was blocking an aisle in a family grocery store.

But daaaaaamn, compared to this one... *boggles*

A friend of mine has a full-blooded maine coon and that thing is fucking huge. She did a painting with him in it for our class, and had to actually bring him to the critique to prove to our instructor that she hadn't exaggerated his size.

He's massive. I know quite a few gorgeous Maine Coon cats and even without the fat, that cat is bordering on their size. Looks nothing like them, but still a big kitty.
