Same with dogs, that's why people shouldn't feed their dogs from the table. The dogs smells that there's food and will beg, but you shouldn't give them any.

Yeah, I also heard that's sensible because of the pack order, if you want your dog to know that it isn't your boss, you should feed it after the family (the human family) and then feed it separately.
