Internet Lawyers -- Not Just for Publishers Anymore
A Dartmouth professor has decided to sue her students (with some faculty thrown in) for discrimination. Supposedly, "discrimination" now entails students disagreeing with you. Who knew?

(If you don't want to wade through all that, there are also summaries at Gawker and IvyGate.)

However, for me, a question remained: Is there room for literary theory within the framework of the laboratory?

My inner science and lit nerds weep tears of sheer horror that someone would honestly ask this question, but it's still one of the funniest things I've read all week.

The answer to the question is:

"Sure, there's room for literary theory in the framework of the laboratory. It's that book you're reading while your experiment runs."

Seriously, I've sat through some long-ass lab experiments, where reading material (or at least a well-stocked iPod) was a requirement.

I get most of my internet surfing done during experiments. A++ for labs with ethernet access.

Go read about Alan Sokal and you'll feel better.
