Hermit crabs, even more interesting when transparent.
Over on [info]wtf_nature on LJ, someone posts a picture of a hermit crab in a transparent shell. It's kind of cool and freaky all at once.

[info]electricube is bothered by this. Very bothered. Se proceeds to wank about animal rights, toxic poison, and what bettas really need for an environment. In great and astonishing length.

But wait, there's more! Bettas are awesome and you can teach them how to read. Watch as sarcasm completely escapes this girl, and then her boyfriend leaps in to defend her!

At least read that last link. It is fucking beautiful. Edit: There's a NSFW link in one of those threads I didn't follow to the end.

Thanks so much to the anonymouse over on [info]wank_report who tipped me off to all the crazy.

My younger cat is nesting in the blankets on my bed. And all those books on metaphysics are sitting unread on the dresser. I don't know why I let him use my staff library card. Judging by the page he coded after he took out all those books on CSS and Java, he's just trying to impress people who look at the reading material he has scattered around. Lazy little fucker.

Of course, the older one once got his back foot stuck in his opposite ear to the point that he couldn't remove it without help, so there's not much hope for him. At least he isn't relying on Oprah to tell him what to read anymore, that's all I can say for him.

Ahahaha, that foot-in-the-ear thing sounds like something one of mine might do. He's neither as smart nor as flexible as he thinks he is.
