Best Letter Ever
Over on the blog That Canadian Girl, a post appears about a friend of the blogger who recently drained a pond behind his new house and found a very odd letter. Many commenters find the humor in this, but then of course, there are those who find something to argue about. You'll find cries of "omg you destroyed the pond" and "shut up, it was for the children!" And of course, "your spelling sux!" Enjoy!

I love the person suggesting to tell your kids there's a shark in the pond if you don't want them to go in there. That's... that's much better than removing the pond. D:

Especially since telling them that would be just as effective as telling them, "There's delicious candy in that pond, jump in and find it!"

It really bugs me that adults think that kids think just like them. Kids aren't afraid of sharks like adults; they think sharks are scary but cool.

They'd probably try to push each other into the pond, or try not to be pushed into the pond.

Those are valuable learning experiences that will prepare them for life as adults!

Or that, yes. But, no, adults still expect children to work on adult logic. *sigh*

Well, it's important for creativity, imagination, and curiosity to be curbed at as young an age as possible, you know. When I have children, they won't be allowed to read any of that Harry Potter nonsense, and their bento boxes will be filled with animal-shaped sandwiches and cheese stars.

Agreed, I think many of us completely forget how kids work once we grow up.

Oh, Sokka. I love your icon.

Seriously. I mean, has this person never seen The Lion King? "Elephant graveyard? I am SO THERE!"

But didn't you know that all children have the same risk-assessment, foresight, and common sense than adults do? They're just like midgets, only with a love for unicorns and transformers!

What about transformer unicorns?

The Beast Wars toy line really missed out on the crossover potential of one of those didn't it?

Seriously. They had a dragon, why not a unicorn? Would've been better than that hawk they had.

I liked Airrazor even if she was under used in the cartoon.

Still there should have been a unicorn.

Move ahead to the Beast Machines toyline, and your prayers are answered.

He's even been repainted. Oh, Battle Unicorn, how I love you.

Seriously. Reminds me of when I used to be a lifeguard- the kids would want to stay after closing time, and we told them they couldn't because we released a shark into the pool every night. Which, of course, made them want to stay even more. :)

I'm an adult (technically,) and I still think sharks are scary but cool.

Not to mention that sooner or later, they're going to realise that sharks only live in salt water.

Aahahaha, it would be awesome if the kid already knew that.

Parent: Don't go near the pond, Sarah, there's a shark in there.
Kid: Dad, sharks only live in salt water. *looks at parent like they're dumb*
Parent: .......

It would! And how big is the pond, anyway? It doesn't take a great deal of knowledge to figure out that a 2-metre shark is going to be a little squished in a 1.5 metre backyard pond...

Except bull sharks, which swim up rivers to bite unsuspecting swimmers in the ass. I ♥ the mental image I get of this:

HUCK FINN: *swimming in Mississippi* Come on in, Jim! Water's fi--AHHHH OMG OMG WTFMYLEGMYLEG!!!1!one!!1

JIM: Yeah, you thought that snake on my bed was funny, did ya?!

I beg to differ.

But then I was a cowardly little thing, and afraid of roller-skates.
