Coffeewank!
This is an example of the wailing and gnashing of teeth that can ensue when you take coffee too seriously. Or, depending on which side you take, what happens when you don't take it seriously enough.

Jeff Simmermon of the And I Am Not Lying blog wanted an iced triple espresso from Murky Coffee in DC. He's informed that it's against Murky's policy to serve iced espresso, and when he orders the espresso and a cup of ice, he's told that "What you’re about to do … that’s really, really Not Okay." Simmermon takes exception to the barista's attitude, posts about it on his blog, and also shows the tip he left at Murky. The comments explode, some taking sides with Simmermon, others with the barista; the blog post ends up  linked on BoingBoing; and the owner of Murky responds with a highly unambiguous "Fuck you, Jeff Simmermon".

Insert joke here about everyone needing to lay off the caffeine.

So is now the moment to confess that I don't like Coke out of a bottle, only out of a can? ...Hey, at least I own my crazy!

Also, Diet Coke is evil and wrong and tastes like styrofoam.

Good analogy! I've never been able to pinpoint exactly why it's so nasty, but I may have to lick some styrofoam and see if it works. All I know is that anything Diet makes me gag.

(I'm opposite, lol. I hate drinking cokes from cans, only from bottles or soda fountains. Unless the can is cold and the coke is poured into a glass.)

I'm the same way. XD It's not that I won't drink it out of a bottle, it's just... I'm reluctant to.

Thing is, I was the exact opposite in Michigan. (Living in New York now.) I thought it was a sort of evolution of taste before, but the last time I visited Michigan I grabbed a can of Coke and cringed when I tasted it.

...but if it's a fountain soda, it makes pretty much no difference to me what brand it is, so long as it's not diet or cherry or anything like that.

For me, Coke or Diet Coke out of a bottle after someone else has had a sip tastes like lemon. I don't know why, but I think this means I can join you in the crazy corner.

And that's why it's so awesome!
The reason Pepsi Max is my favourite drink is that it's even more artificial-tasting.
