Arbeit macht furry
Debating whether to put this in [info]unfunnybusiness, but while Nazis are certainly unfunny, debating the merits of Naziism is only the basis of this whole mess. If you don't enjoy Holocaust-related humor, it's probably worth it to skip the whole darn thing. Also stuff on Something Awful forums tends to be NSFW. So please, let's focus on the funny, because there's lots of it. Posted when the SA forums are public browsing, so at least right now it's out there for everyone to see.

SomethingAwful forums user Labinnah knows an unrepentant 92-year-old former member of the Waffen SS. Being someone no doubt heavily invested in humanity's professionally-interviewed and vetted history, he offers to interview this "nice old man" about his experiences using questions submitted by the SA members, some of whom urge Labinnah to at least check Weisenthal to see if he's on the wanted list. The link is in the "Comedy Gas Chamber," but this is a clearinghouse for horrible threads that need to die, not a commentary on the subject matter.

As one might expect, a fierce debate ensues over whether or not it's OK to kill Jews as long as you get away with it for 60 years. Most people fall on the side of "Nazis can suck for decades after the fact, really," so that's not why we're here. Most of the "hey, who cares" responses come from one guy, who can be ignored. There's more. So much more.

The real fun begins when the forum members discover that Labinnah not only knows this SS member, but he himself is a Nazi fanboy and thinks Hitler doesn't deserve his "evil" reputation. He's also a furry, not that there's anything wrong with that except that Nazi furs are hilarious. He also collaborated with Texas Furry Con 2004 and ratted out some SA members (this was likely justified), which explains the bad blood.

Then Labinnah posts elsewhere that he got a new puppy! A German Pinscher, natch. Named Dresden. Cue the "Heel, Hitler" jokes. The inevitable callout/mocking thread digs up even more including information that Labinnah sees no philosophical conflicts between Naziism and, oh, having a transgendered identity, given that he is a biological female and identifies as male-ish (most of the time) and as everyone knows that was totally acceptable in Mein Kampf. Um, somewhere towards the back. In the end, Labinnah gets banned for lack of ideological purity, the mods telling him to burn in hell and never come back. Poster Charles Goateau asks plaintively, "why does the rabbit hole always have to go on forever? why can't there ever be somebody who's just a Nazi? i don't really think that's too much to ask."

It'll probably take a while, what with no zippers and buttons. . . .
