Over in the little_details community, chibiyaoichan asks if twins can actually manifest each other's physical pain.

The consensus of the community is "no, not in real life."

This doesn't sit well with icedmaple, who is a psychic and has proof that she found on the internet which consists entirely of personal anecdotes.

Then she has a little fit on her journal. Twice.

How dare you not delete her comments in order to prove that she's irrational? That's just mean, kutsuwamushi. >:(

I don't know, I think icedmaple has a point. I mean, I was always skeptical about the ability of otf_wank to bring us two funny wanks in a row, but here we are.

Although it hasn't appeared on television, so it might not be absolute proof.

She called my beliefs "nonsense" and when I pointed out that she couldn't say that about religion, which is about as easy to prove, went off on a tangent about how people don't think religion is fact either. Even though I'd just pointed out that intelligent design is taught in schools.

Ahh, what a nice little dose of batshit to start my week. Especially that last link. That is some quality crazy right there. I know that when people disagree with me, they don't delete my comments just to show that I'm wrong, rather than having the common courtesy to delete my comments and then rant about how wrong I am. It makes such perfect sense!

I read this not-actually-all-that-bad science fiction novel a few years ago about a woman on a colony planet that had been taken over by Evil Aliens who had this ability. She could feel her twin's pain. In fact, her twin didn't feel any pain at all because the woman could feel it (or something like that, it turned out the twin was the 'stronger personality' and kept shoving her pain off onto her twin. Nice). Anyways, the stronger twin was spying against the Evil Aliens and got caught, so they tortured her to death. Naturally she didn't feel any pain from the torture because she shoved it off onto her twin. The physical damage to her body finally did her in. When the book opens her twin is still recovering from the after effects.

And then the surviving twin met a member of the feline Good Alien race and feel in psychic love and annoyed me to near death with her TSTL behavior. So I quit reading the series.

I checked up her journal and that psychic group she's talking about is some small time ghost hunting group. Oh, and she and her buddy appear to believe they have dreams about the apocalypse.

I've talked to people who are different ages to me, one of whom was a parapsychologist, who dream about the same landscape that I've had recurring dreams about.

And it's a really weird, bleak, concrete city scape that is like no place I've ever seen. With huge, monolithic concrete structures that aren't towerblocks and don't have windows or anything like that. Really distinctive things that I'd never told anyone until that point. It's really strange.
