Entry tags:at least her mommy loves her, bad service, change is bad, defensiveness ahoy, i used to be a therapist!, miss cleo told me i'm special, paper is obsolete!, pretention, special snowflake syndrome, writing shit down is hard :(, your rules don't apply to me

Keeping track of checks is for old people and losers with low credit scores
Over in bad_service, beccaweccavt makes a post about some "bad service" she receives from a mechanic who charges her less than they should have but OMG doesn't cash her check immediately! The denizens of bad_service are confused. beccaweccavt then proceeds to let the community know that she's unable to keep track of her written checks because she's a bookkeeper for a large corporation and has a credit score of 800.

Keep on truckin', beccaweccavt. Keep on truckin'.

Our mechanic only takes cash. CASH.

It is not my business to worry about his tax returns and how he files them, but I have to say that I am somewhat skeptical.

Being a good mechanic makes you crazy. I'm pretty sure mine has a back room full of MREs and guns, but he's an awesome mechanic so I don't care if he thinks the Illuminati are coming to get him.

I know where I'm going when the zombie apocalypse comes.

(Also, this is Donna, not Bree. Bree is logged in and I can't be arsed to fix that.)

Had a mechanic once who said he could make me up a bill and charge me $70 for inspecting a car I was thinking of buying or he could just take cash and charge me $30. Hey, I wasn't gonna say no to saving $40. :)

On the opposite side, my dad is a CPA and he says crooks are his best clients because they pay in cash and on time. (By crooks, I mean people like a bar owner who everyone in town knows has gambling in the back room.) He only handles their legit business, but they're always nervous about what he might have deduced from their records. So they make sure they keep him *very* happy so that he has no temptations to call the IRS.

Yeah, I hear about mechanics and locksmiths only taking cash or SOMETIMES checks all the time. I'd go so far as to assume that if they weren't part of a national company.
