Entry tags:brush-a brush-a brush-a brush me, i wanna feel dirty, microwave of the night

Riding on the wave of the toilet flush...
Nuke those toothbrush germs!

I wish I could link to individual comments directly; instead, let's try this:

#4: The first voice of dissent.
#6: What do I do with an electric toothbrush?
#11: What do I do without a microwave? Provide alternative plz.
#12: Why would they provide an alternative?
#14: I'm a dentist and I approve of this message.
#17: Remove the battery from your electric toothbrush, DUH.
#26: I'M A DENTIST AND I DISAPPROVE OF THIS MESSAGE.
#51: My battery is sealed in, dumbass.
#57: The First Ammendment says you have to provide the alternative!
#64: This is as stupid as Obama's tax plan.
#69: Enter citations!
#71: Winner.

And then it gets better: it's a government plot, it's the fault of CHINA, inexplicable invocation of Dick Cheney, let me show off the brand of my toothbrush! 110 comments and counting. [ETA: Bizarre science at #121!]

I am absolutely paranoid about leaving my toothbrush out in the ‘open’. So, what do I do … I store my toothbrush in my freezer when I am done brushing.

Ah I love germaphobes and their abject terror of the microscopic. Should I tell them there are thousands of germs covering every surface, including their skin? Or do you think that'll just get them washing their hands bloody again?

Give them a rough estimate of how many germs they suck in every time they take a breath.

Not to mention the fact that cold has never killed a single unicellular organism (they just go dormant until they get heated up again...). Which goes to show, once again, that we only fear what we don't know. Or, in this case, what we failed to pay attention to in Middle School.

I think my freezer is a health hazard on its own, since it tends to be coated in unidentified bits of stuff and juice from meat that wasn't wrapped properly.

I had dead mice stored in mine for a while.

The question is, on purpose or not?

I used to be paranoid about leaving my brush in the open, only because my cat likes brushes and would walk up to anything long and sticking out in the air and chew the end of it. And I really don't want to be sharing plaque gunk with my kitty. She licks her own ass.

Other than that, I really don't give a shit about germs, other than common sense things like using a different cloth to wipe the food preparation surfaces than the floor and not eating food after two days in the fridge (unless you know it'll be okay after that time).

I mean, I'd eat grass and fruit from our yard when I was a kid after rolling in mud. If that's not working up a good healthy immune system, I don't know what is.

Sometimes I really want to be alone
But that's one state I'm never in
Because I know that I've got millions upon millions
Of tiny, one-celled organisms living on my skin
