In the "craftgrrl" community, hamburgerhop makes a post asking for advice about her costume idea. People on the internet being intelligent, kind, civil individuals, respond that it is tasteless but provide the relevant information and then ignore it. Right?

First comment says....no.

Some highlights from the rest of the thread:

I would say that's more the costume-maker's faults for being asshats. The Party Mania down the block has some wonderful stuff that actually manages not to be tasteless.

Lucky you. I'm surrounded by Party City stores and the T.V's been blaring "HEY KIDS COME GET YOUR WHORISH/SEXXXY/SLUTTY COSTUMES OH AND BRING YOUR MOM TOO" nonstop for the past two weeks. Ugh.

My local ones are relatively clean and well managed. I have no idea why their corporate thinks it's a great idea to air those ads here when they could just let the places speak for themselves. But what do I know.
