	Exactly. I mean, ethnocentric dumbass = ethnocentric dumbass. Shockingly enough, they exist all over the country. But every time one of these posts happens, there's always the automatic assumption that ethnocentric dumbass = southerner, like we're the only source of stupid in this entire nation. ... I can supply. Once, while having breakfast at a McD's in Edmonton, I overhead a bunch of people talking about the hopelessly racist, ignorant South (re: Obama) and spent some time reminding myself that a polite Southern lady does not pick fights with strangers in restaurants.

Then, a couple conversational segues later, I swear to all the gods one of them -- these SAME PEOPLE -- said, to general acclaim, "And what about those stupid Mexicans and their running of the bulls?"

Oh, Jesus, been there, done that. I was waiting in JFK for a flight awhile back, and these people sitting near me went from talking about how everyone in the South were stupidly racist, to discussing "Latino immigrants" like they were talking about some sort of migratory bird. I swear to God, one of them actually said "I just can't see them ever coming this far north. It's too cold, they can't settle right."
