Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.
A rocket scientist over in [info]techsupport seems to think that Americans invented the English language and that people in the UK and Australia don't speak English.

Good times.

"We're going to Zee Gee."

"It's Zed Gee*, damnit!"

This conversation happened a lot when we went to instances. Most of the time I use Zed (Did anyone else read National Geographic for Kids, with the article called "From Eh? to Zed"? That was a fun one), but in conjunction with WoW, I tend to use Zee.

And I'm Canadian. I am from Canadia

*We're referring to Zul'Gurub, but there are a couple of other similarly-named instances, like Zul'Aman and Zul'Farrak. They're all troll-holes to me.

Hah, we had that argument with a couple of our European members from time to time, but very rarely our Canadian guildmates (which comprised a very large portion of the guild).

Reactions usually amounted to either "Well you can go to Zed Gee while we go to Zee Gee then and don't need a raid invite" or "So long as you're on American servers, it'll be Zee Gee. Suck it up"

We mostly did it to tease people. It doesn't really bother me, but sometimes I do have to think twice when people are spelling it aloud.

Most times the arguments were purely in jest. We pretty much mocked each other for just about everything said on Vent. Everybody got a piece of it. We did, for a short while, have someone who genuinely argued about the Zed/Zee thing (among other snobberies), but he didn't last long.

We did it a month or so before Wrath hit. We did retro-raiding. We could have said the same thing about Zul'Aman. Also, Blizzard could not have an expansion without a troll instance, but at least Drak'Tharon Keep is new. Also, last boss dropped my shiiiiield. *hugs it*

Grats on the shield. ^_^

I think the only people I've seen do ZG are mages and the poor souls they sucker into going with them. lol I've only been there once.

Man, I'm so hopelessly American. @_@ I see "Zed Gee" and the smart ass side of me wants to say, "You mean Zed Ged?"

The really hardcore people did ZG because the helm enchants are actually better than the ones from the BC reps, so there's that, and people will often help the mages for a shot at the mounts (swift Zulian tiger ftw!). So there are a couple good reasons to run it.

(fun fact: the Naxxramas shoulder enchants were also superior.)

I think the important thing here is not ZedGee or ZeeGee, but how you shorten Magister's Terrace.

I've been a 'MgT' sort of person, but we often referred to it as 'that fucking place that hasn't dropped X'.

I like to refer to every instance as Kara, to confuse people.
