Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.
A rocket scientist over in [info]techsupport seems to think that Americans invented the English language and that people in the UK and Australia don't speak English.

Good times.

Huh, interesting! I'm from Canada so I only know of iced tea. And I hate it. Because it's not sweet enough for me.

I need to take a trip down south methinks.

Or do what my grandmother does.

((Gallon jar (or jug, depending) + loads of sugar + steaming water) x seal and shake thoroughly) + teabags x left on the back porch in the for several hours = sunshine sweet tea.

She tends to do it with just straight up Lipton, when I make it, I sometimes try out fruit or herbal teas just because I want to experiment.

Hmm, why do you leave it on the back porch in the sun? Does that do something?

The sun helps it brew. The reason why not the front porch is because it would be improper.

::shrug:: Tradition, mostly. She claims it tastes better than if you just let it sit on the kitchen counter to soak.

Oooh, okay. Do you know of any official recipes for this? I might need to forward it to my mum and dad, who are tea fiends.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/818659/sweet_home_made_ice_sun_tea.html?cat=22 This is the closest thing to an "official" recipe.

I think it's a grandmother thing. My husband's New Mexican grandmother does the same thing and it's the most amazing drink EVER.
