A rocket scientist over in [info]techsupport seems to think that Americans invented the English language and that people in the UK and Australia don't speak English.

This is totally why, even tho I live here, I still can't understand a bloody word they say here in English. Tho that's without taking my hearing impairment into account....(and the fact that Irish Gaelic is damned near incomprehensible....unless you happen to be my kid, who parades around the fact that he's the only one in our family who can speak it...*dies*)

Does it help if I tell you that the pronunciation of the letter 'R' has been a constant source of debate between my friend and me? And we're both from the same area of Armagh.
