Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.
A rocket scientist over in [info]techsupport seems to think that Americans invented the English language and that people in the UK and Australia don't speak English.

Good times.

Anyone else remember that song from, I don't know, a decade ago?

"Vocabulary runs through my head/
the alphabet runs right from A to Zed"?

Oh, how I laughed at that as a young American. But I didn't, y'know, insist that the band was STUPID and WRONG and OBVIOUSLY NOT IN TOUCH WITH ENGLISH.

Also, since this is apparently hitting all my buttons...I'm Southern and y'all is pretty much the best word ever. I'm in England right now and I tried to get my British friends to say it; it's like I asked him to speak Russian. It was great.

LOL, I got a couple of my English friends to say "y'all." They realized it made life easier after a while.

I say y'all! No one has noticed yet. I think it may be because it is usually preceded by "fuck".

Be sure to explain the proper use of "all y'all" as well!

In the same song, there is also:

'Vocabulary runs right through me,
The alphabet runs right from A to Zee'

That cracked me up, personally. Oh, All Saints.
