Welcome to the "Least Intelligent Student Union in the Country"
The student council at Carleton University in Ottawa has made a shocking discovery*: Cystic Fibrosis only affects white men, and is therefore not an "inclusive enough" disease to raise money for. Needless to say, this causes a leeeetle backlash.

In response, the person who originally made the motion to remove CF from their charity list is "currently not able to live happily." How sad. :(

ETA: *And by "shocking", I mean "completely false".

Can you explain it to me? Because all I can see from it is 'this only affects a certain population, so we won't care' which... doesn't sound good in any way.

And maybe that is what they meant, I'm just having a hard time seeing anyone saying that while not trying to be assholes.

Definitely only funny in a "gotta laugh or else I'll hit something" way.

I lost a good friend to Cycstic Fibrosis. She lived over fifteen years longer than her doctors gave her and she credited it to lots of laughter. So I'll laugh for her.

My friend Iva did that too XD Dumbass doctor gave her three months to live; she was four at that time. When she passed away, she was twenty-one. And - yeah. She was also hilarious, and one of the most honestly kind people I've had the pleasure to know.

I'm quite sure that, in the hereafter, she's pointing and laughing at that doctor. XD

Why don't any of the many, many articles linked ever mention that IT ISN'T TRUE that CF is a white-guy-only disease? (Unless I missed it, which is certainly possible.)

(Affects MAINLY CAUCASIANS doesn't mean it only affects them, you insufferable penis-weasel of a mouthfarting clodpate 'researcher' - and those were the most SARCASTIC airquotes I could fucking muster right there, I will have you know! Um, yeah - when Couchiching in Orillia, Ontario, ran a camp for kids with CF, there WERE other ethnicities represented! They were in the minority, sure, but that didn't stop them from making myriad fart jokes just like the rest of us, so there. Also, COOL FACT - people with CF don't get cholera. It's a minor perk?)

In the interest of making this at least interesting (instead of just ragificating), why don't people with CF get cholera?

Also, cooking tips I learned this Thanksgiving:

Large turkeys create lots of drippings/juice. Consider this when putting said turkey in a roasting conatiner.

Due to said large amounts of juice, those stuffing recipies that call for croutons instead of soft bread have a point.

Over ~17lbs, cooking time for a turkey doesn't change. Only tested up to 25lbs. (do turkeys larger than 25lbs exist?)

Yeah, this is just another example of university students going, "LOOK AT IS, WE ARE SMRT AND SPECIAL!" when they're really just made of fail. Newsflash: Being accepted to university does not make you a genius. (And I say that as a unversity student. Sigh.)

My cousin has CF. She's both female and about 7. Good job, Carleton.
