Gee, this wank smells terrific
So, what do you think about "salon" shampoos that you buy from overstock stores?

They're evil and wrong. EVIL AND WRONG! DANGER WILL ROBINSON! THEY KILLED A MAN IN RENO JUST TO WATCH HIM DIE!

I have hair down to my knees and I am sad because I've become allergic to my precious, precious Suave shampoo.

I still buy the green apple kind in the huge bottles. It makes excellent bubble bath.

OH I MEAN HOLY SHIT MY HEAD JUST MELTED GODDAMN CHEAP SHAMPOO YOU DID THIS TO MEEEEE

I love the suave green apple. But I started using the suave kind specifically for brown hair, and while it does not smell as pretty as the green apple, it works as well as the more expensive John Frieda stuff, so I'm happy.

Which means that if you really want to benefits from all those vitamins and lipides and whatnot, you have to drink your shampoo. Someone is probably already developing this...

Pfft, shows what you know. When I was using Fekkai I could so much with my hair, like lift weights and dust in hard to reach places. But then my supply ran out and I got kicked out of my local super villain group. :(

Even the CVS by my house has stickers on the salon products that states "this bottle is intended for sale at CVS" so I know it's an okay place to buy my $30 Bumble and Bumble shampoo
Newsflash, snowflake: Those stickers are put on for the sole purpose of preventing people from buying it there (or ripping it off) and reselling it in their own establishment. It says absolutely nothing about the quality of the product or your gullibility at paying $30 for shampoo.

Bumble & Bumble is actually worth it. At least, if you bleach and color once a month or more, B&B is fantastic for fixing the damage that does.

Oddly enough, I actually bought a DVD once at Circuit City that had a sticker that said it was intended for Best Buy. And I had just been to Best Buy, where they said they had one more copy left but then couldn't find it anywhere. So apparently being too stupid to even take off the sticker doesn't stop them from doing anything.

I love the fact that there is never a topic, nor even a rationalization, too banal or petty for people to invest enormous emotional value in. <3

I feel that should be tested.

Although having been in a "discussion" once where I said I wished manga translation publishers wouldn't use the same font all the time and nearly everyone screamed "IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH WHY DO YOU REEEEEEAD IT??!?!", I think it's been tested already.

I was so expecting this comment to end with "that people can't write poetry about it" and then started picturing emo-poetry about shampoo.

Oh Hair
If only you were perfect
I will do anything
pay anything
be anything
for your perfection

For I am my Hair
And my Hair is

My boyfriend uses Tsubaki, and because of this I sort of suspect he might actually be an Japanese woman.

A pair of jeans can fall apart/develop holes faster, costing you more money in the long run.

God it's so small but seriously -- designer jeans are built more sturdy than bargain basement jeans, and you'll save money in the long run buying them? Have they actually looked at a pair of designer jeans lately?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(Wears her $5 goodwill jeans for years and years and years).

Suave, on the other hand, gives me ear pimples. Seriously.

I think part of the rage comes from the cosmetics industry refusing to stick with a single formulation of anything, ever. I'm et up with grief right now because the conditioner I used for decades was sold to a less hippie-riffic company and went through two reformulations in eighteen months, the first one making it work less well on my (thick, fine, curly, fragile) hair and the second introducing the Bad Stuff which gives me asthma attacks.

Whatever the Bad Stuff is, it was added to Johnson's Baby Shampoo in about 1992; the experience taught me to panic at the sight of "New and Improved" on any product I've been sing happily for years.

My favorite part of this wank is the edit by the OP, where she takes her original question, bolds it, and posts it again in hopes that someone, anyone, will give her a proper reply and actually answer it.

Eventually it looks like people do give her some useful advice, but it was touch and go there for a while.

Oh god, I've learned not to trust products from the fancy salon my mother funds my trips to. I'll take a cheap, nice smelling product over the ass-yak scent that those salon-only shampoos resemble.

I've also learned never to listen to hairdressers just because they're 'experts' on hair. My colorist (who I see once a year at best, pretty much) tell me every time I'm there that I clearly have a thyroid problem.

Her: OMFG your hair is so dry right in this one spot your thyroid must be DEAD.
Me: *first time and freaked at her vehemence* Omg I'll get a blood test!
Blood test: Kef, you're fine.
Me: Phew!
Blood test 2: Still fine!

Next time I see her, she insists again that I clearly have a thyroid problem.

Her: Does your hair fall out a lot!? It's so dry in these spots!
Me: Maybe that's because this is the second time my hair's been washed today. I had a blood test! I had another one too months later!
Her: omfg blood tests can be wrong you are going to die or get fat or whatever
Me: AUGHHHHH!

Why is it that this shampoo wank has made me nostalgic for Lemon-Up shampoo and conditioner?

I miss that brand so much.
