Some news show or another did testing on products like these and a lot of them had been tampered with (mostly watered down)so even though you think you're getting a good deal, you might actually be paying more per unit than if you just bought it at the salon.

Some news show or another: an unimpeachable source of information.

I want to make them all tin hats, but I don't think they'd wear them if they found out they weren't really made of tin. :(
