Gee, this wank smells terrific
So, what do you think about "salon" shampoos that you buy from overstock stores?

They're evil and wrong. EVIL AND WRONG! DANGER WILL ROBINSON! THEY KILLED A MAN IN RENO JUST TO WATCH HIM DIE!

Er, why would a stylist do that? I only ever go to HairCuttery where I get a blunt, chin-length bob done, and I've never in my life had the stylist try anything like that on me. Usually they have to convince me to let them blow-dry it enough to check the length.

(But I wouldn't say that anyway because it still sounds stupid to me. :P)

My stylists always want to put shit in my hair. I tell them there's no point because my baseball cap will flatten. Most of them listen.

I will admit, when I get the occasional one who doesn't listen, the result of the stuff they use looks really good in those five minutes before the cap goes on my head.

Ha! The last time I went for a haircut, it was with a new stylist, who asked me how I wanted it. I said shorter, and she asked what style, and I said it didn't matter, as I wear a baseball cap all day, every day.

I got the biggest death glare, like I was wasting her time. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Huh, I'd always had the opposite experience - every time I went to a salon, even the cheap ones, I had to convince them that no, I didn't want them to style it with stuff in it. Maybe it's the style? I tend to have mine done very short and feathery.

Yeah, that's probably it. Or else the fact that I'm so insistent on "just a blunt bob, please. No, no stacking in the back. No layers in the front, either. Just get it cut...no, please don't blow-dry, it's a waste of electricity, I mean really" sort of convinces them ahead of time that I'm not going to take kindly to it. :P

I love my standard haircut so much. I varied a bit in August by getting it stacked in the back, and it was horrible. It actually required me to use a blow-dryer and styling gel to get it to look right :O

The stylist I had when I lived in the States had gone to beauty school in the 1980s. No matter what style I experimented with, if I forgot to remind her not to put anything in my hair, I came out of the salon looking like I was about to guest-star on Dynasty.

I've just got mine trained not to ask whether I want them to blow dry it or let a brush anywhere near my hair. It will just frizz.

I'm dreading the day she leaves.

I had one get really huffy when I said 'Please, no product. I'll have a shower as soon as I get home.' I really wasn't trying to be insulting, but having really fine hair means I end up with little tiny bits down my top and they start itching and Argh!

My measure of a good hairdresser is someone who can decently cut my hair the way I described it without having to use stuff to crimp it into place.

That's why I ask for the wash after the cut. It works pretty well.
