But holy crap, I'm disturbed by the big ear loops. I don't know what bothers me about them, but wow, dis~turb~ing.
The fact that you can SEE THROUGH HER FLESH OMG? Because that's what gets me. Whenever I look at those kinds of piercings I feel the vague urge to try and stick a pencil through them (wtf? it is an odd response). (Also, what happens if you don't like them anymore? I hear you have to keep them in because your ear loses structural support without them and your ears go all floppy. /o\)

If you don't like the tunnels? You *can* get them cut out and then the lobe sewn back together at the normal size. I have no idea of the cost or if that's normal. I just saw it done on one of those horrific makeover shows.

I knew a guy who stretched them, and he would stick his fingers through them. Grossed me right the fuck out.

That said, I think they look ok as long as there's a tunnel in.

	Ooh, I saw that on Extreme Makeover, too! It was really really disturbing, and the plastic surgeon was all "you can never wear earrings again :(" I think the girl was goth or something and was like "dang, it sucks trying to be respected in my architectural job the way I look. also, I'm tired of it." hehehehehe. I love them - on others. I absolutely adore bodymods of all types, though there are many I wouldn't get on myself for very specific reasons. But I think they're fab, and love to play with them on others.

Keep in mind most people who get the more extreme body mods like that are in it for the long haul and will usually have many other more extreme mods too. They're probably not too worried about the aesthetic when they're older.

	Yeah, everyone I've met with enlarged piercings has had tattoos and other piercings as well. But surely a huge hole in your ear will not age gracefully? 	I mean they don't care. Some might be oblivious to the fact it will change, of course, but people who are getting significant mods, I dunno, often seem to me to be very adaptable to the process of change those mods take as time passes. Because all mods change on an ongoing basis, cos the body is a constantly changing thing, growing, shedding, healing, ageing, etc. (Reply to this)(Parent)
