Mawwiage. Mawwiage is whot bwings us the wank today.
Wank, that sewf-wighteous event, that spwurt wiffin a dweam...

Yeah. Anyway. 'nough of that.

Apparently some students at the University of Northern Texas (I think. They're all in Denton, Texas and one has in her user info that she goes to a UNT) have decided to protest the DoMA by staging a fake wedding. One's straight, the other's bisexual, but neither have any romantic interest in each other. This doesn't come out until the first comment. The OP makes a bunch of veiled, slightly pretentious references to it. One of the brides explains their reasoning in the previously linked comment. [info]dgtlghost thinks it's a pretty stupid idea. But he doesn't get it, as [info]alittlenothing is quick to point out. Things go down hill from there as they start their own catfight/mini-wank.

Meanwhile...

-- we get a thread of slightly more intellectual wank from [info]tyches_coin and [info]pikacharma.

--Blushing bride [info]prettymouth gets offended that the OP has a problem with their wedding, because her dad marched with MLK in Selma, and OMG he has lots of scars!

--the OP makes a condescending reply that goes on and on. Honestly, I didn't bother to read any of it, past the first paragraph. But somehow it morphs into an argument about old history and whether or not he knows what the word "rape" means.

I almost wish that I lived in Texas, so I could have pointed and laughed at them in person.
