Strictly, I'd say "yeah, it's a blog. Multiple contributors, but it's a blog." After all, it's built on blogging software (LJ code) and follows the same basic rules, though it's more community-based.

I think that it may be sites that have posted that they're up for nods. I don't know if ICHC or CO have advertised their nominations, since they're fairly bigger. And I KNOW Nate at FiveThirtyEight noted that he was up, while I don't think Politico and TPM and other blogs of that ilk did the same. And FiveThirtyEight is blowing away the politics comp as well.

I'd be surprised if FYP is ahead by that much on its own merits, though. ICHC is really a 2008 phenomenon (I think it started at the beginning of '08) and pretty much a pan-Internet meme. I didn't even know about FYP until I saw Cleo mention it.
