J'accuse!
The 2008 Weblog voting is open now. But some people smell a rat - Cake Wrecks, a popular humor blog, is completely smashing the other blogs in the "Food" category. There is confusion! Bickering! Recriminations!

Ok, so mostly it's just one person who insists that he knows more about what's happening on the WBA servers than the admins and owners of the site do. Bonus that the owner of the site's husband is getting into the mix. There's also a post up on the blog about it, so I anticipate tons of indignant readers dogpiling on that thread.

And I didn't even know about it until last week or so, so I'm really surprised that it's steamrolling the competition like this. Of course, I'm also the one who got bitched out for not having heard of the "sea kittens" thing until last week.

...not having heard of the "sea kittens" thing until last week.

*raises hand* Dude, if not for you, *I* would never have heard of the "sea kittens" thing. Instead, I got to look hip and "with it" in my departmental meeting today. w00t!

Hee!

(It also led to this sea cat macro.)

Me too. I just spent half an hour on Google to find out what's what. It's... pretty fucking weird, actually.

PETA's push to rename fish 'sea kittens.'

Mmm... sea kittens.

I had some delicious sea kitten for lunch!

(Wonky move, PETA. Vaguely reminds me of this.)

PETA: the sea kitten in the barrel. Have a gun.

Hehehehe. You're reminding me of Mythbusters. "CAN you shoot a sea-kitten in a barrel? Let's try out the SHOTGUN!"

You know eventually they'd just chuck some explosives in there. :D

And then say it was the best explosion ever, even though they said that about the one the week before and will probably say it about the one the week after. They're like ADD kids or something. LOL!

Every single time the seal hunt is about to start up, I feel like yelling, would they care if it was a sea elephant? I don't think so.

Hunting for seals > shipping domesticated meat up by bushplane.

*mops up*

Actually, given that they're PETA, they probably would. Crazy and radical they may be, but you have you give PETA credit for consistency.
