Madame Defarge probably isn't welcome there EITHER
Ravelry: it's like Facebook! It's for knitters and crocheters! It hit the New York Observer! It spawns four pages of grudgewank! It's like a concentration camp, in a way!

LOL, TBH, the stuff people are reporting that they were saying doesn't look too different than the stuff people on the other side of the aisle were saying in 2004. Not that that excuses it, in any way, shape or form. I just find it amusing that people are *shocked* because political discourse has *never* been this vitriolic before.

I would encourage them to go to the library and look up vintage political cartoons.

Also, Jebus, people. I belong to a third party. Practically NOBODY ever agrees with my political philosophy in any of the places I hang out online. And yet, amazingly, I still manage to follow the rules, and *gasp* actually manage to read stuff that I don't agree with WITHOUT commenting.

In conclusion: LOL POLITICS.
