Save Spuds Mackenzie!!1!!
Soooo, a three year old kid broke out the Crayola washable markers and went to town on the family dog.

This being Cute Overload the response was immediate and predictable.

HORRIBLE PARENTING!

BAH! HORRIBLE CHILDFREE OVERREACTION!

YIKES! HORRIBLE THROW ON THAT COUCH!

... what would Cute Overload think of THIS?

Yes, I did his entire body (even the orange bits). I used food colouring.

All the other horses teased him in the playground while I callously giggled :(

They were like, "JJ, we can't even see green and we can tell you look ridiculous. We know she dyed you. WE KNOW. HAHAHAHAH"

He was traumatised :( It was cruelty.

We totally won though.

How much food coloring did you need?

I think that's how they used to put mustaches on Wishbone. I seem to remember a "behind-the-scenes" where he's trying to lick it off because its beef flavored or something.

I can't remember all that well ... several bottles at least, but less than you'd think because I diluted it (I can't imagine how long it would have taken to come out if I hadn't! Sweet jesus! It took about three months for the green to come out of his mane as it was).

I just googled Wishbone and AWW! Cute <3

Ha ha, I left some chestnut color enhancer on my horse too long, once, and it turned her white markings pink.

So I tried to correct it with bluing.

You can guess how well that turned out.

It was a very vibrant magenta. XD

I got some odd looks at the show the next day. Fortunately it was just a schooling eventing show, so the judges were pretty laid back about it.

LOL XD

That's awesome. I thought I got strange looks when my horse's mane stayed green in the aftermath of his dye job but I think you beat me! At least he was coordinated with my cross country colours, haha.

Ahh, but you see although to the untrained eye he looks like a totally happy horse who - along with his friends - was completely and utterly oblivious to his different colours ... a TRUE INTERNET ANIMAL EXPERT can see the soul melting horror in his eyes. *nods sagely* see the way he's holding his lips? A TRUE INTERNET ANIMAL EXPERT can tell that's because he's singing Linkin Park.

...Mayhaps my friend might be interested in doing something similar with her horse. *saves for later sharing*

I had friends who constantly dyed their horses' manes green. I recommend it! :D Be aware, though, you have to use extra to make it show in mane/tail hair ... and it can take a LONG time to come out. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing ... :D
