Same sex couples physically can’t have children, therefore, there is no point to the relationship.

Anti-gay ad in the Salt Lake Tribune is posted for discussino at KVNU’s For The People
http://kvnuforthepeople.com/2009/02/16/anti-gay-ad-in-the-salt-lake-tribune/

The comments are a general chorus disgust at the content and making fun of the horrible design. Until "Kaye" chimes in, starting with "I’m straight but I have plenty of gay friends" and ending by bringing Hitler into it. After that it's non-stop fun.

ETA: My mistake. This should be in [info]unfunnybusiness

ETA2: To clarify: Homophobia is not funny. People who invoke Godwin's should be mocked mercilessly.

I've always wondered if any of these nutjobs apply 'can't physically have children = no marriagez 4 u!' to hetero couples.

I know of one who did. She was seriously fucked up.

At least she was consistent, though. Silver lining and all.

Or what about hetero couples that can have children but prefer not to? Do I not get to get married? Are they gonna annul my grandparent's marriage? Or any future marriage of my sister's (after all, she's had a tubal)?

Someone did ask her that, but she didn't reply.

I'm just wondering when someone will reach the logical conclusion that clearly couples must have a child out of wedlock in order to prove they should be allowed to marry. I'm looking forward to that.

I think by that point, their tiny heads will explode.

On the upside, some of the comments on this ad were brilliant, mind you:

You know they mean business because they’ve used, like, 27 different fonts.

and:

Could someone help me out here - are we to learn from this ad that all heterosexuals are stupid and marginally literate, or just the christian ones?

Same. A guy once pulled out this argument over lunch, and I was so mad I asked if he'd be allowed to get married after someone castrated him for being so fucking ignorant.

I don't know if it got him thinking, but it was sure fun to watch his expression.

And for extra frustration, try getting people to understand when it isn't the usual trouble keeping you from having kids! I swear I need a damn diagram and some charts to get people to shut up about 'those great fertility treatments these days' when it's a weak heart that's the trouble. IVF isn't going to help that!

Sure it is! Didn't you know that getting pregnant cures all ailments?

In high school, I made one of my religion teacher's head explode with that question. Later, I got her to reverse her stance on oral sex.

She wasn't the only religion teacher I tormented, but I liked her best of all.

Also, it's like adoption, artificial insemination, surrogacy etc don't exist. There's more then one way to have a kid!

Some people in WA state did, but it was intended to point out that making the "can't have children" argument could have unintended consequences if carried to its logical conclusion.

Nothing like making sense!

I remember when a state where I used to live passed a law exempting sexual orientation from discrimination laws, a local gay bar fired all their straight employees (with their permission) and cited their sexual preference as the reason. Once the story hit the news and the point was made, they were rehired.
