But why isn't your book selling?
It's all the fault of literary agents, who are single-handedly destroying literature everywhere!

Excerpt:

The substantial and nearly unassailable wall that separates you from us has been under construction for decades. You can find the names of its architects and gatekeepers on your telephone-callers list, and in your email in-box. They are the literary agents—that league of intellectual-property purveyors who bring you every new manuscript you ever see, those men and women who are so anxious to gain access to the caverns of treasure they believe you sit upon like some great golden goose that they would likely hack one another’s heads off were they not united by one self-serving mission: to ensure that quality fiction never hits your desk.

Just a tiny bit of entitlement, elitism, and self-delusion.

And some responses...

And not just wolves, to boot. Just ask Hotshot.

Not to mention Quinn. *drool* I get a real Vin Diesel vibe out of him, and it makes me wonder if I'm not the only one who has actors in her head playing the characters on the page. For example, the guy in my icon actually has two roles in my current project, and I'm betting that's why I actually got a novel out of the thing.

And sometimes the characters morph in weird ways. I've got one who started out being played by Camryn Manheim, but now she looks like Queen Latifah and is voiced by Wanda Sykes. Yeah, I don't even know.

*grins* Well, with Downey's talent, two roles is completely understandable. Quinn is totally a Vin Diesel type. I could imagine his rumbling voice so easily.

So one character went from Snow White to Khadijah voiced by Sykes. I have...no words. Except maybe you should make her have a sister voiced by Niecy Nash. But I also love and adore Nash to pieces. And somehow I can see them as siblings.

Um, yeah. The accent, along with the mannerisms, and boom, there she was. Which meant that another character had to swap races too, because they're related. *headdesk* And race isn't even an issue in this thing. But at least by watching Numb3rs the other night, I got an idea of what the second character's hair looks like. I wonder how long it takes her to get it to look like that...
