I've seen a green sky before. Usually in the context of 'the clouds outside worry me a lot'.

Yes, I was one of those kids who would respond 'the sky is blue... or black at night, or gray when it's cloudy, or sometimes orange, red, pink or purple at sunset and rarely green or yellow during storms, or that weird purple-red color it gets during cloudy nights in the city from the lights on the ground'.

I used to say "a rainbow" because at sunset it usually was a variety of colors, especially if the clouds got in the way.
