Olive to Wank
You guys like food wank right? How about some Olive Oil wank? That's what I call a well lubed wank.

lovethatlovage posts a picture of their stovetop on picturing food. sjaustin then comments on their olive oil storage method and it devolves. As if that's not fun enough, lovethatlovage then drags the issue over to stupid_free where sjaustin gets in the first comment. Calls of grudgewank ensue and people start discussing their favorite food wanks of the past.

What's your favorite/most delicious food wank?

All that fuss, and it's not even decent olive oil.

I dunno. It might not be my first choice for my dinners, but so long as no one calls it 'Eee-Vee-Oh-Oh,' I'm not going to complain. *shudder*

As far as food fights, I still like frosting vs. icing, myself.

Wow, sjaustin's pretty self-righteous for someone who can't let go of a thread about olive oil. (Also, I'm no chemist, but I'm pretty sure rancid olive oil isn't really comparable to trans fats actually....)

Lovethatloveage is so consistently full of fail, I don't know why she continues to post anywhere. .. But so is sjaustin, so it's really saying something when she comes out looking even slightly better (depending on your take on this, obviously).

Reliving the vanilla wank makes me tear up in lols.

I think this cat has got waaaay too broad a definition of rancidity. Because, anybody who's ever sniffed something rancid knows it. This is not a "my palate is not sensitive enough to notice it" type of deal.

(I store my oils in glass jars next to the stove too, and I can smell and taste the difference. I am just old enough to remember when you had to drain cooking fat into an old pickle jar till the jar was full, and then throw it out, so that the fat didn't get into your septic and screw up... something. A pickle jar full of month-old cooked fat? That is rancid.)

I mean, clearly she also doesn't know the definition of the word "cunt" either, so I shouldn't be surprised.

p.s. I keep mine in the cabinet with the other oils and vinegars, because it's a nice handy place to keep it. The dark/cool part is just a bonus.

It's hard to read a neutral tone into a comment following an icon flipping the bird, but this is one of those wanks where all participants need deep fat-fried (preferably in beef fat, which is stable at higher temperatures) until they are a toasty brown.

Favorite food wank... hmm... it's close, but I put eggplant wank above bread wank, if only because of the part about eggplant being a "bad luck vegetable".

I guess I fail as a cook. I keep my Kroger brand EVOO (hey, it's cheaper!) beside my fridge, out in the open for a couple months. I get the small size, though. I mostly use it when I'm frying up ground chunk for spaghetti to freeze or tacos.

I always just put my olive oil in the cupboard, and I take a while to get through a bottle. I fail?

But it never smelled or tasted off. Actually, the olive oil soap I used smelled worse. :[ But there are probably other factors contributing to that.
