As a slash fan and writer, I'd appreciate a bit more respect.
(This is maybe more [info]fandom_lounge-y, but most of the comments are fairly wanky.)

Local rag reviews book, enrages slash fans.

This comment here for some reason pissed me off and made me laugh at the same time.

Aren't historical romances supposed to have a happy ending?

To be historically accurate, a 1600's gay romance would have to end with a big bonfire. Not a happy ending.

Well, if we're going there, most historical romances would end with dysentery, rotting and missing teeth, death in childbirth, and everyone sold off in arranged marriages or whoredom.
