I, P. [b]Badlarr[/b], am truly sorry for posting this wank.
Last time I posted something from [info]writers_guild I met my BFF, [info]eggie1978. I wonder if [info]jay_alonzo will be my friend?

'cause, see, J. Alonzo got this mega-amazing idea, so he wrote a chapter that he wanted reviews on. It's all like, political and shit, and it's about the country of the Middle East, and there might be a boy who flies in there, and he's so very good at what he does that he can single-handedly make manga a genre instead of a medium.

However, as far as the story goes, this is a novel which takes from all cultures and amalgamates them into a story which draws from the World War II era, current economic and international threats, as well as a future where the story occurs in which experimentation on the cure for disease has manufactured many odd side-effects in a few people while folk-heroes from the past carry on a lineage into current day where they correspond with Interpol to keep a post-depression world in check.

Really, with a description like that, how can you not go check it out?

So what's the problem, right? Well, J. Alonzo miiiiight not have done any research on the very epic subject he's trying to write about. Psh, like anybody would actually notice.

J. Alonzo concludes that those big mean meanieheads who think he's too white won't rest until he quits writing entirely.

BUT NOT until he's posted about it on his blog, which you may not want to go to unless you have a fast stop-that-fugging-music finger.

You see, I undertook a small challenge to write and post a chapter a week (with a head start) of this high-concept story based on a comic book I was working on in high school. So, of course, being that this was a big project I really wanted to advertise my product and get some feedback, maybe meet a few new friends, mingle, network and whatnot. Well, I posted a synopsis as well as my own comments on the piece to sell myself and my book and I really rubbed these people the wrong way-

No I mean it, they are REALLY pissed.

So, they go on to flame me for awhile until one of their members rolls in to inform me in a condescending comment below (which I kept from a post in which I was happy about the reception of my posting) that people are upset and they demand that I respond because what I wrote was extremely offensive. Well I got there and the tone went from justified weariness, to constructive criticism, to an all out personal vendetta to get me to stop writing and publishing this story as I, J. Alonzo, am far too young and far too white to write my own story.

I said my piece, apologized for the sins I committed against them, but still they persist so here it is, I'm acknowleding the elephant in the room, here goes.

By the irish blood coursing through my veins on behalf of my anglo heritage, I, J. Alonzo, am truly sorry for the misgivings of the past.

However, I, J. Alonzo, prefer to look at things on the brighter side. Sure, a band of overly hostile individuals who want nothing more than to see me stop writing altogether is a little daunting, perhaps a little threatening and unsettling to some, but I prefer to be optimistic.

But really, J. Alonzo is laughing. Because he has a hit counter. And bold tags.

As a bonus, Trillian is still crusading to rid the world of the evil that is writers_guild and Winterfox.

ETA: As the OTF chapter of the official J. Alonzo bookclub, I urge you to not miss the Companion #1. P. Baddy out.
