I changed the rules but I'm not going to tell you which, and stop being so passive-aggressive!
Since F_W seems to be suffering from an abundance of fail and grudgewank, it falls to dear old [info]otf_wank to keep us amused and away from the unfunny! Today we bring you...a polyamory wank!

...

Yeah that would be a terrible idea. Really it's a fantastic piece of mod-wank taking place in the lj polyamory community. Edit: This wank courtesy of the mouse brigade in [info]wank_report

So [info]00goddess is the mod of the polyamory community. She makes a post letting people know she changed the rules of the comm. However, she doesn't say what change she's made, or link to them. And no, I have no idea what the "ongoing problem" is, or the rule s/he changed.

Don't you just love it when things kick off in the first thread? Basically, people ask for a direct link. Now, let me just quote comments #3 and 4 from this thread, and I think we have everything we need to know:

triadruid: "It seems perfectly reasonable to ask what's new, but if you wish to make it a guessing game..."

00goddess: "I don't wish to make it a guessing game. What I want is for people to read the whole damn thing attentively.

Passive-aggressive comments? Just annoy me."

AND WE'RE OFF.

In her personal journal, 00goddess confides to the masses that she's been contemplating deleting the comm. This thread...I don't even know what the fuck is going on here. Suffice it to say that both parties miss each others' points by miles and then there's butthurt for everyone!

Then it goes back to the community, with this post. I don't think I even need to tell you to scroll down for a good time.

I'm capping a bit but I don't have time to grab all the comments before work. I heartily encourage any wankas with time on their hands to archive this for posterity, however!

Is it wrong that I only visit polyamory to make sure I'm writing my polygamous relationships (in fiction) believably?

Other than that: I'm seeing a lot of passive-aggression from the mod.

Don't feel bad. I only visit to point and laugh, and I'm actually poly.

dot_poly_snark gives me better advice by snarking what NOT to do in a poly relationship.

This is true of most snark communities.

Yes - I don't even have polyamory on my f-list, but I do have dot_poly_snark on there. In fact, I have several snark communities but not their progenitors. Huh. I'm sure this says something about me, but I have no idea what.

Me too! I think it says we learn better through sarcasm.

I only visit to point and laugh, and I'm formerly poly.

. . . even when I was in a poly relationship, it was point-and-laugh material, though. :)

I'm not sure that's a good idea — I mean, it seems as though, if one were taking hints from that community, one would end up writing all of one's polygamous characters as gigantic wankers.

I'm very, very careful with the advice I take. But not being poly myself, I had to start somewhere, and occasionally the advice is good. Applying it to fictional people is a lot easier because I can twist it anyway I choose.

Sorry, I was being facetious there — I didn't mean to imply you really would do that.
