HOW DARE YOU CALL ME FAT
Mars from Chicken Dinner Candybar does her regular Fat Love Friday and includes Marie from Agent Lover.

Marie is put off by her inclusion on a "fat" list and tells Mars so.

Mars offers to take it down. Marie refuses. Instead, she proclaims on her blog, "oh haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaale no!

Chaos ensues in the comments about fatphobia, body acceptance, fashion sense (or the lack thereof), and kissing-up commentors.

Is Marie brave or is she overreacting?

(I'm in the comments and I know Natalie [the 'overreacting' link], so I am slightly involved in the wank aftermath. It's pretty obvious which side i'm on.)

Actually, not even then can everyone be skinny. Those of us with large bones and wide-set frames (especially after being pregnant, because your ribcage expands and then stays that way) can never be, say, size 4. We could conceivably be skeletal, and still be like, a 10. Unattractive and horribly unhealthy, but a 10. *G*

You're right - I totally misspoke there. I'm actually big boned (my wrists are more than seven inches around), so I could starve myself to death and still be around a 10 myself. :)

What I actually meant is that (almost) anyone can starve themselves into being thin (temporarily!), in the sense of having little fat on the body. You know, the old "no fat people in a concentration camp" fallacy. Of course, we might start cutting off our fingers...

Or other people's fingers. I like that idea better. Particularly if we're all starved and our fingers are just skin and bone anyway.

Well, we'll probably need a few sets of both to stave off the shakes and headaches and balance issues I get if I miss breakfast.

My shoulders are as wide as most men's :( My hips are just as wide. I am short. I'm built like Gimli's sister. Which just means I need to invest in some nice axes for when this subject comes up again.
