Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
But I have a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabiieeeeeee!
So! My first post here. Seeing as my friend is one of the victims, I wasn't going to post anything, but after reading the culprit's excuses... OUCH it burns.

This wench over here, apparently called Ayonda thinks it's okay to steal peoples artwork and use it all over her site without credit or permission. Aimee is annoyed, and Ayonda refuses to take it down.

Some first-rate whining goes down on her message board, with Friends Of The Various Artists VS Ayonda And Her Friends.

Fun bits of mind-numbing logic:

I wouldn't steal my neighbours car. However, I would borrow a friends car, if offered to me when needed. If that friend bought to car from a stranger who happen to have stolen it, how would I know this?? The friend purchased the car, so in his mind, the car was his. I borrowed it on the same pretext. If someone came up to me and said the car was stolen but wasn’t their car, I would ask for more information on what makes them the car was stolen.

... Uh, but YOU stole the car artwork.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to spend my time with a friend who just lost her son. See, unlike others, my life does not revolve around the constant bombardment of useless conversation on a stranger.

Isn't there a law against this?

Yes, only I can bring up the fact that my child takes priority of my time since I am the one that spent 9 months creating her, 4 hours birthing her (without the use of drugs) and 2 and a half years raising her.

Apparently having a child keeps her from realizing that stealing is wrong.

AND IT GETS BETTER!

Ayonda Fangirl #4 creates an OMG YOU ARE ALL LOSERS thread.

What's funny is, Aimee's a professional artist will legal copyrights on her work, and has found this girl's home adress. I wonder if she'll use the excuse of having a child in court?

[edit]

Aimee's posts in the original thread, annoucing that yes she DID e-mail the culprit before she posted in her LJ, and asking once again to take the images down, have been deleted, and the thread has been locked. The point of this seems to be to make it seem like the artists didn't try to contact her at all. Pity there's all those witnesses.

[edit again]

Daitenshi and Ashley continue poking the art theif with a pointy stick, and I say what the hell, and alert her to how her hissy fit is being broadcasted. Now I'm going to go stand in a corner, very far away from all this, and giggle as it expands.

So with this logic, people who use drugs in giving birth are stupid.

Four hours - no wonder she didn't need any drugs. *rolls eyes*

Apparently so, because I've certainly been ignorantly wasting my Baby Excuse on trivial stuff like not doing housework and being allowed to wear jammies until 3 in the afternoon. :)

Woah. Nice smackdown by Taeha:

"Don't you have anything better to do than sit around harrasing someone for something so f@$#ing petty? They're pictues!"

Let's see YOU have the same attitude when you've sat there for hours and hours in an evening, slaving over a drawing. Erasing and re-drawing pencil lines until you're satisfied, paintstakingly inking as you're hunched over your paper, then colouring and getting marker all over your hands. Hours later, you gently place the paper somewhere to dry. You look at it, really proud of what you've created from your heart and mind; and of the skill and talent you've developed to be able to create something like this. And then you decide to share it with other people to look at, by scanning it, adjusting it, uploading it, and tweaking code to add it to your website. Just because you're generous and kind that way.

Then some greedy, selfish person takes this drawing you did and alters it and places it on their own site for people to have! All of your work, everything you've poured your heart into, shat on and taken completely out of the framework you wanted to share it in. No credit for all that time you spent pulling the drawing from your mind and heart onto the paper. I suppose that kind of creative rape is not something someone who isn't an artist can understand.

Now, please tell me who is really "so f@$#ing petty".

Mmmm... flamey.

Yeah, or, y'know, you've gotten addicted to the instant feedback and hero-worship that comes with putting even the most egregious crap up on the internet for people to look at.

I've no opinion of the art, but the melodrama's giving me a migraine. Will no one think of the ARTISTE?!

I dunno, it's like really good melodrama. But I suck at art which makes me fall for it more.

Sure, the ego-stroking can be nice (who doesn't like to be told they rawk?), but that's seriously not what it's all about. I used to just like the idea of people being able to see my drawings, because I'm proud of them. That's whether or not they took the time to e-mail me and piddle all over my shoes in their excitement. But the art thieving got really tiring, so I took my site down.

And yes, the drama isn't fun for either side, but what else do you do when your art is being used and you just want it taken down? When these people refuse, all you can really do is call in the cavalry. :\

BTW, love the icon. Lloyd Dobbler = best EVAR.

Interesting... I wandered around the site and found a picture of Merle from The Vision of Escaflowne as one of her tagged goodies, and then there was one of Mickey Mouse. I wonder how Disney would feel about her claiming the image as her own?

I thought she was kidding, but no, no she wasn't.

4 hours birthing her (without the use of drugs)

This is supposed to be a big deal? My mum was in labour with me four 36 hours, and she doesn't use it as a reason why she's automatically always right. (Unless it's an argument with me, but all things considered, I think she's the right to do that. Heh.)

Yeah. She spawned. We should bow down and kiss her swollen feet. *snort* Not bloody likely.

And, yeah, I was another of those long births. Something like, 29 hours. o_O; My mom used to use that against me a lot. Is that just a mother thing? XD
