Wind; hear my cry!
Over on lj on [info]nonwiccanwitch a user asks At what point does "support" become "fostering delusions?>

The focus of the discussion quickly turns to whether or not one can control the weather.

Call me delusional, if you want to. I've seen folks control the weather

And as it turns out someone in a (now deleted, sadly) post thinks they can control the weather.

Is it okay to tell your children you can control the weather?

Maybe its just me, but this whole thing makes me want to go watch X-Men.

I can control the weather. I can make it rain by leaving my car windows rolled down.

What a coincidence! I make it not rain by remembering my umbrella. Clearly we should have a rain duel.

This duel must be enacted in the form of dance, if you do.

I thought I was the one who could make it rain by washing my car...

Yeah, I can make my phone ring by heading for the ladies' room or trying to take a bite of lunch, so this weather control isn't such a stretch.

I was able to do that when I was a child by leaving a book outside.

There should be whole religions built around the lighting of a cigarette. It's the best way for your ride to show up, be it a friend or public transit. It can make it rain, or make the wind pick up - it will almost always make the wind change direction (you only thought you were standing downwind of those people who are now hacking and coughing at you!).

In Old!Mage*, my boyfriend had a character with a Fate rote that let him light a cigarette so the bus would show up, and he had an artifact pair of fuzzy dice that allowed him to get a perfect parking spot every time.

I can make it rain at night by mentioning the 'T' word during the day.

(The 'T' word is 'telescope', and I'm not sure if typing it invokes the curse, but they were already forecasting storms tonight so it's not my fault! *grins*)

I can make it rain by hanging sheets on the line to dry and going away for the afternoon.

In winter, I can make it rain by putting a load of seets in to wash.

This has nothing to do with living in Western Washington, nope, nope, nope.
